It is with a very heavy heart that the PCC has decided that we will not be able to have our usual Christmas Eve carol services this year. It was a very difficult decision: we all love the services, and know how important they are to so many in Abbots Langley. We are in a much better place this year in terms of the virus than we were last Christmas. Even so, it just seemed irresponsible to be squeezing hundreds of people, from the very young to the very old, into church at the moment … and all the steps we could have taken to reduce the risk (limiting admission, requiring masks, not singing) would have robbed the afternoon of its magic.
So, very sadly, no donkey services in 2021.
There will be Midnight Mass at 11.45pm in both St Lawrence and The Church of the Ascension, Bemond.
On Christmas day there will be a 9.30am Parish Eucharist in St Lawrence Church and Eucharist in The Church of the Ascension at 11.15am.
