The church is people. But people need somewhere to meet.
St Lawrence Church in Abbots Langley High Street has a long history, having been built around 1150. To see where it is on the map, click here. The churchyard is managed for the benefit of wildlife. It has been given the status of a County Wildlife site in recognition of its importance as a grassland area. It is a closed churchyard and no longer used for burials. There is a garden of remembrance. In 2007 a wildlife notice board was installed. This contains a mowing plan of the churchyard showing the frequency of cutting in each area and lists of birds, butterflies and plants that can be seen through out the year. Visitors are welcome. The church is open daily 9.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m.The Church of the Ascension in Bedmond - known locally as The Tin Church - built in 1880. To see it on the map, click here.
